Emily E. Brown, Organ Donor, 2000-2013

NILES - Emily Elizabeth Brown, 13, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Akron Children's Hospital, after a short illness.

Emily was born April 28, 2000, in Youngstown, the daughter of Jeremy Wayne Brown and Sonya Lee Miller.

A lifelong area resident, Emily was an eighth-grade student at Niles Middle School.

She attended Bible school every summer at First Presbyterian Church in Niles. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling and was a member of the school band.

Her family would like to say that she was a special and thoughtful person, and gave hope and life to five people as a LifeBanc organ donor. She is a hero and will be loved and missed.

Emily is survived by her parents; a brother, Jeremy D. Brown at home; grandparents, Michael Cornelius of Hanoverton, Suzanne Cornelius of McDonald, Cary Miller of Niles and Mary Scott of McDonald; a great-grandmother, Mildred Scott of Youngstown; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
