In memory

In memory . . . . . . of a life so beautifully lived . . . . a Heart so deeply loved.

Ashton Sweet, Organ Donor, 1996 - 2011

Ashton was a giver, her mother said. The popular 14-year-old cheerleader mentored students with special needs at her school, Northwood High, and often went out of her way to help her younger brother, who is mildly autistic.

One of Ashton's favorite colors – green – as a celebration of life and renewal."

The girl's liver, an organ that can regenerate, was split into two parts for two patients, she said. Each of the kidneys went to a separate person.

Aside from the organs, Ashton donated corneas, skin and other tissue that will help patients with needs such as cleft palates, her mother said.

  1. Oh boo,I can't believe you're gone. I love you so much honey. May your light shine forever and ever in the tremendous impact your life is having on everyone. I guess you were too, too, bright for this dark place and needed more somewhere better. Shine on little angel, shine on.

  2. I'll try to keep her giving momentum going with the Green Urban Society. I'll try to teach people in my global community to prevent such a disaster from happening and to help them all help themselves.
